Who We Are
Since 2022
Pelican Academy is a cost-free virtual program that provides tutoring to all underprivileged children (K-12) on subjects like English and mathematics. In addition to live classes, educational videos, such as the narration of childhood books, are also available. Pelican Academy also provides an avenue for underprivileged children to speak with a fellow student somewhere across the world.
Pelicans symbolize sacrifice, generosity, humility, and unity. Pelican Academy operates with these beliefs in mind. All members of Pelican Academy work together to rebuild stronger futures by bringing joy and hope into the lives of underprivileged children.

Our Founder
April Wen, a freshman at the California Institute of Technology, was inspired to create Pelican Academy after seeing the devastating conditions of children during the war between Russia and Ukraine. She wishes to be able to help all underprivileged children around the world.

In moments of chaos and disorderedness, children need a sense of normalcy. They need to believe they they can rebuild their lives stronger than ever before. Children did not choose to get involved in any conflicts, and thus, they should not be affected by any rash choices made.

The team at Pelican Academy is committed to bringing a beacon of light and hope into the lives of all underprivileged children. Through our cost-free educational and mentor programs, we aim to let all underprivileged children know that they have the support of everyone around the world. Our program connects great minds across the world. Pelican Academy is dedicated to educating the future generations so that the world can become even stronger than before.
