Elementary-Level Spanish

In this 6-month course, students will be presented with, not only the Spanish language, but also Latin American cultures, traditions, and history. The curriculum is set up so that students can learn about these aspects of culture as they learn the vocabulary that relates to it (ex. we may learn about the Spanish royal family in our family unit). Students will learn a lot of new vocabulary, grammar rules, and how to build complete sentences. We will practice these things through listening, writing, reading, speaking, art, and game-like activities so that students are exposed to the language in many formats. By the end of this course, students will know how to identify nouns and describe them, pronounce the introduced vocabulary, build complete sentences, and participate in small conversations. As the tutor, my goal is to support and encourage my students, accommodate their different learning preferences, and tailor the lessons so that they are relevant to their lives and global events.
